Do you think the members of Leek Wars speak a strange language?

Maybe you followed a chat conversation like: "My danger map doesn't handle AOE.".

Here is a small glossary that should help you talk with the natives.

Game abbreviations

**AoE**: Area of Effect, the area affected by a weapon or a chip.
agi: Agility, which improves the effectiveness of damage return chips and increases the chance of critical hits.
CAC: from the French "Corps À Corps" (melee). A situation where the opponents are very close to each other.
caracs: from the French "caractéristiques": the characteristics of leeks, such as Life Points or Strength.
CC: from the French "Coup Critique": a Critical Hit, a special hit boosted by 30% compared to a standard hit.
DDD: from the French "Désactivation Délibérée de Défi" (Deliberate Challenge Deactivation), or "Déséquilibrage Discret de Défi" (Discreet Challenge Unbalancing). The basic idea is to detect the type of fight and, if it's a challenge, stop your AI.
GCTU: getCellsToUse. Refers to the results of the getCellsToUseChip and getCellsToUseWeapon functions.
HP: health points, in other words Life Points: the number of life points of a leek.
HL: high level. Said of leeks around level 300.
AI: artificial intelligence. The program that defines how your leek behaves in a fight. For more details: LeekScript.
libé: from the French "Libération": Liberation, a tactical chip unlocked at level 60.
LoS: Line Of Sight, see line of sight.
LS: LeekScript (the programming language of Leek Wars). For more details: LeekScript Tutorial.
lvl: level. Leeks start at level 1 and can progress up to level 301, which lets them use new chips, get more capital... For more details: Tutorial by level.
LW: Leek Wars.
Màj: from the French "Mise à jour": an update.
popo: potion (color potion or Restat Potion).
MP: movement points. They let leeks move around the map. For more details: Movement Points.
PP: Profile Picture, the farmer's avatar on their profile.
TP: action points. They let leeks perform actions during their turn. For more details: Action Points.
rési: from the French "résistance": Resistance, improves the effectiveness of shields.
TP: also short for Teleportation, a tactical chip unlocked at level 200; the context tells you which one is meant.
xp: experience earned by leeks at the end of fights.

Jargon

boost or buff: improving the characteristics of a leek by using a chip.
bulb: some chips give leeks summons, called "Bulbs". For more details: Bulbs.
damage map: an array where you store the damage you can deal depending on the cells you move to.
danger map: used to estimate what might happen to you if you are on a given cell at the end of your turn.
accessible cells: all the cells of the map that a leek can reach (from the cell it's on, given the movement points it has).
shackle: the opposite of a boost (lowering the characteristics of a leek, achieved through magic).
Habs: the currency of Leek Wars. Habs (earned in fights) let you buy new weapons, chips, potions or hats at the Market.
capital points: let you increase the characteristics (strength, wisdom...) of your leek. For more details: Distributing your capital.
action points: let leeks perform actions during their turn. For more details: Action Points.
movement points: let leeks move around the map. For more details: Movement Points.
cooldown: the number of turns you have to wait before you can use a chip again.
restat: using a Restat Potion to change how your capital points are distributed.
area of effect: all the cells affected when a weapon or a chip is used.

Community slang

alt: alternate account (a secondary account of a farmer who has several).
AM: from the French "Aigue-Marine": Aquamarine, a rather rare resource obtained mostly in Battle Royale, and the object of much envy. "Argh, no way! I won the BR but another leek got an AM!"
BR: Battle Royale.
BR<X> (for example BR8, before arenas and the /arena command were introduced): there are currently 8 leeks signed up for the Battle Royale (and it takes 10 to start one). A call for you to sign up! By default, this refers to the level 300/301 BR.
OTK: One Turn Kill. A purely offensive leek whose strategy is to kill its opponent within a few turns at most, thanks to a heavy investment in damage and buffs.
Boucliance: from the French "bouclier" (shield). A pejorative term for shields, and for the playstyle built on high resistance and big shields.

English terms

alive: living (see for example the isAlive function).
area: area of effect.
cell: a cell of the map.
chip: a chip (for example: Spark, Bandage...).
cooldown: the number of turns before a chip can be used again (getCooldown/getChipCooldown).
farmer: a Leek Wars player.
fight: a fight.
from: starting from (usually refers to a starting cell).
knapsack: the knapsack problem.
leek: the leek, your fighter.
line of sight: line of sight.
map: the map. For more details: Map tutorial.
magic: Magic.
nearest: the closest one.
range: the range (of chips and weapons).
reachable cells: accessible cells.
strength: Strength.
team: a team.
weapon: a weapon (for example: Pistol, Broadsword...).
wisdom: Wisdom.
