Brainwashing is a shackle that removes Wisdom from the target. Like all shackles, it's affected by the caster's Magic. It can be used once per turn, and it stacks over two turns.
Reducing your opponent's Wisdom means reducing their ability to heal. Rather than chaining poisons that can be removed on the next turn with Antidote, it can be worth slipping a few shackles onto your opponent.
To figure out in advance whether it's worth applying Brainwashing to your opponent, you can check their wisdom with getWisdom, and you can also count their healing chips with getChips to judge whether or not your opponent relies on them during the fight.
