About this chip ---

Rage increases the action points of the target, which can only be an ally (a summon or a leek), and of its neighbors in the area (allies as well). This chip only has an effect when used on an ally, so there's no risk of boosting an opponent's TP by mistake. You can also use it on an empty cell with useChipOnCell to boost a nearby ally through the area of effect. The usual area of effect penalty still applies, though, so the resulting buff will be smaller.

How it works

Main article: TP and MP buffs

You may have noticed that this chip adds a non-integer amount of TP: between 0.5 and 0.6. In reality, the game only uses whole numbers of TP, so the number of TP added is always rounded to the nearest integer. The effect of Rage is boosted by the science of the leek using the chip. To find out how many TP this chip adds depending on the science of the leek using it, see the following table:

Caster's science | TP added (direct use) --------|---------- less than 0 | 0 0 to 149 | 1 150 to 199 | 1 or 2 200 to 316 | 2 317 to 399 | 2 or 3 400 to 483 | 3 484 to 599 | 3 or 4 600 to 649 | 4 650 to 799 | 4 or 5 800 to 816 | 5 817 to 960 | 5 or 6

Caster's science | TP added (area of effect, distance 1) --------|---------- less than 5 | 0 5 to 24 | 0 or 1 25 to 212 | 1 213 to 274 | 1 or 2 275 to 420 | 2 421 to 524 | 2 or 3 525 to 629 | 3 630 to 774 | 3 or 4 775 to 837 | 4 838 to 960 | 4 or 5

When the table says "1 or 2" (for example), the higher the caster's science, the more likely you are to get 2 rather than 1.

Usage

This chip has a fairly long range, a large area of effect and a cooldown shorter than its duration. That makes it perfect for boosting your whole team! If you use it on yourself, you get TP back immediately, so with enough science this chip costs very little. Be careful, though: the effect doesn't stack, so if you use it while the effect is still active, the old effect is replaced and you "lose" a turn of effect (it will only have lasted two turns instead of three). If you use it on yourself, you won't regain any TP, because you first lose the old bonus (for example, -3 TP) before the new one is applied (+3 TP).
