>At least, we can't confuse the chips that boost MP with the others: they all have a boot drawn on them. They must ask themselves questions about leeks and bulbs when they see this at the market, they who don't have any. Giving a boot to a leek is like giving a knife to a hen or like giving the BAC to a high school student: they don't know what to do with it.

"No need to rush things, you have to wait for the right moment to rush." ~ quote from an obscure old leek who just got the rusher trophy after waiting a great number of years without noticing there was a speedrunner trophy.

Presentation of the chip

This chip is similar to the Covetousness chip but this time it increases MP. So typically, the same remarks apply.

For more information on the "per target hit" notation: see the Level 139 Tutorial.

Comparison between Precipitation and Covetousness

Let's do a quick comparison. Consider a typical level 301 leek from top 10. That is to say with 21 TP and 6 MP.

number of enemies hit by the chip | Haste gain transcribed over 2 turns as an amount of Capital Points | Gain of Covetousness transcribed over 2 turns in the form of an amount of Capital Points -----------|------------|-------------------------- 0 | -225 | -155 1 | -65 | -5 2 | 135 | 155 3 | 375 | 325 4 | 655 | 505 5 | 975 | 705 ... | ... | ...

Explanation on how to generate this table: for example:

We repeat the same thing for a Leek of 20 TP and 5 MP

number of enemies hit by the chip | Haste gain transcribed over 2 turns as an amount of Capital Points | Gain of Covetousness transcribed over 2 turns in the form of an amount of Capital Points -----------|------------|------------------- 0 | -210 | -145 1 | -90 | -5 2 | 70 | 145 3 | 270 | 305 4 | 510 | 475 5 | 790 | 655 ... | ... | ...

This comparison makes it possible to calculate the best gain of Capital Points between the two chips according to the number of targets hit. However this comparison is only on paper. (She is more there to show the balancing of the game done behind the scenes). TP and MP do not have the same strategic interest. Not everyone will benefit from gaining TP as much as gaining MP based on their AI. Some AI handle placements better and others handle combos better. And apart from the space in the inventory, nothing prevents you from having a copy of each.

Note that if you have 2 TP left and you do nothing, it is the equivalent cost for a nb of enemies hit by the chip of 0 that you lose. Whereas if you use it on 1 enemy, it is the equivalent cost for a number of enemies hit by the chip of 1 that you lose. So it's not so bad to use this chip at the end of the turn even if you can't hit a lot of enemies. Generally speaking, TP's low cost chips can easily slip into your combos and so it's easy to find a use for them.
