Welcome to the programming section of the help, where you will learn how to write LeekScript and perfect your leek's AI. To get to know the rules of the game, see the Game Rules page.

I don't know anything about programming 😟

Don't panic! Leek Wars is a game that will quickly let you discover programming in a fun way. If you don't know any programming language, the Tutorial starts from scratch and gradually explains every concept you need to write your code and get started. To follow it, all you need is some basic math.

Tutorial

I already know how to program 😎

Great, you should have fun! You can start by taking a look at the LeekScript Cheat Sheet, which sums up the features of the language very quickly, then at the Documentation.

Documentation

LeekScript

JavaScript / TypeScript

Python

LeekScript

• Tutorial: an introductory programming tutorial.
• Documentation: the documentation of functions and constants.
• LeekScript Cheat Sheet: a quick description of the language.

Other languages

Since version 2.49, you can also write your AIs in languages other than LeekScript:

• JavaScript and TypeScript: writing your AI in JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Python: writing your AI in Python.

Algorithms

Here are some useful algorithms for Leek Wars:

• Accessible cells: the algorithm that finds the cells a leek can move to.
• Hide and seek: the algorithm that finds cells where your leek cannot be hit.
• The damage map: an algorithm that finds, more precisely, the cells where your leek will be safe.
• Morphological Operations: ideas for operations on the map.
• Probability distribution of chip and weapon combinations: how to study the probability that a combo deals exactly X damage, at least X damage, ...
• The pipotron
