Helmet Level 11

Absolute shield

Is the Machine Gun starting to annoy you? Here's the solution! You've just unlocked the Helmet chip, which has an absolute shield effect.

Unlike the damage and healing effects you've come across so far, a shield effect only lasts for a limited time. After a few turns, the effect wears off and you'll have to use the chip again to benefit from it.

Helmet protects you from 15 damage. That may not seem like much, but like all brown chips, this effect is improved by your Resistance. What's more, it doesn't just protect you from 15 measly points of damage. Better than that! The amount of damage is reduced for every damage effect you take.

Remember the Machine Gun and its three damage effects? Well, if the gap between the attacker's Strength and your Resistance isn't too big, Helmet will protect you from a good part of the Machine Gun's effects.

However, watch out for its duration, which is shorter than its cooldown: after the effect wears off, you'll be left unprotected for one turn before you can use Helmet again.

As with healing, you'd better cast a shield on yourself rather than on your opponent. Don't worry: while healing can be applied to an enemy, a shield can't. It can only be used on yourself or an ally, exactly like a boost. You can find this information in the Market, thanks to a small blue square on the chip's card.
