The Broadsword is the first melee weapon you'll unlock, at level 30.
It's riskier to use, but its damage is much more attractive than the Magnum's: far less random and higher on average.
Damage per TP: 7.8 to 8.2
The Broadsword also lets you increase your own strength (regardless of your Science) by 40 points for 2 turns (that is, the current turn and the next one). It works even if you strike thin air, so you can use it to spend your last TP, for example.

This weapon increases Strength by a fixed amount: each use gives 40 strength points for 2 turns (and the bonus stacks).
Like Protein, and unlike the strength buffs from Doping or Ferocity, this buff is not affected by science. Be careful not to get your leeks, er, your wires crossed in your code!
