Returns a string containing the number x* written with exactly *digits digits after the decimal point: toFixed(1.0, 2) returns "1.00", where string gives "1.0".

The number is rounded to the nearest value, and a half rounds away from zero: toFixed(2.5, 0) returns "3" and toFixed(-2.5, 0) returns "-3". Rounding applies to the number as string writes it, so toFixed(1.005, 2) returns "1.01". The result always uses a dot, never scientific notation, and never "-0.00".

Parameters

• x: The number to write, integer or real.
• digits: The number of digits after the decimal point, from 0 to 100. A smaller value counts as 0, a larger one as 100.

Return

• string: The number x* written with exactly *digits decimals.

Note

• Integers and big integers stay exact, even beyond 2^53. NaN and infinity are written as with string: "NaN", "∞" and "-∞".
• In JavaScript and Python, rounding applies to the exact binary value of the number, hence "1.00" for 1.005. Python also rounds halves to the even digit, and JavaScript switches to scientific notation from 10^21.
