Talent

Talent

In Leek Wars, talent measures how well you perform compared to other players. It is represented by this icon:

There are the following talent measures:

Effects of talent

Talent has several direct effects on the game:

Garden adjustment

In your garden, you will only meet opponents of similar talent. The exact garden algorithm is not public, but keep in mind that the further you progress, the tougher your opponents will be!

Rewards

The higher your relative talent, the more experience, habs and resources you get at the end of fights! This relative talent is computed as the difference between your talent and the average talent of leeks or farmers of the same level. A difference of +3 talent compared to the average gives +1% gains (additive: +300 talent gives +100% gains). This bonus only applies to solo and farmer fights. Having a negative relative talent (less talent than the average) has no negative impact on your gains, phew!

Talent evolution

Fighting an opponent makes your talent evolve. It is a scale similar in principle to the Elo rating system (wikipedia) (K = 30\*).

Roughly:

The value 15 here varies according to the talent difference between the opponents: beating a weaker opponent / losing against a stronger opponent will change the talent very little, whereas beating a stronger opponent / losing against a weaker opponent will change it a lot.

A few details:

\* These talent exchanges are smoothed up to level 100: the gain is multiplied by about 1% + level × 0.99%, i.e. ~2% at level 1 and ~50% at level 50. A fight between two level 1 leeks will therefore have a minimal impact on their talent. For farmers, the smoothing is based on power rather than level; there is no smoothing for teams.
